Shoulder Belt Height Adjuster Bolt - STOP SALE ORDER
Involved Vehicles:
1999 and 2000 Model Year Dodge Intrepid, Chrysler LHS, 300M and Concorde (LH) vehicles built from April 15, 1999 through August 17, 1999 (MDH 0415XX through 0817XX).
1999 and 2000 Model Year Jeep Grand Cherokee (WJ) vehicles built from April 15, 1999 through August 20, 1999 (MDH 0415XX through 0820XX)
IMPORTANT: Refer to the DIAL VIP Function to determine if a vehicle is involved in this recall.
The top mounting bolt for the shoulder belt height adjuster on about 200,000 of the above listed vehicles may be too hard and could break under certain accident conditions. This could cause increased risk of injury to a belted occupant. To correct this condition, all shoulder belt height adjuster top mounting bolts must be replaced.
IMPORTANT: ACCORDING TO OUR RECORDS, SOME OF THE INVOLVED VEHICLES ARE STILL IN DEALER NEW VEHICLE INVENTORY. FEDERAL LAW REQUIRES YOU TO STOP SALE AND COMPLETE THIS RECALL SERVICE ON THESE VEHICLES BEFORE RETAIL DELIVERY.
VIN LISTS ON DIAL SYSTEM FUNCTION 53:
Each dealer to whom INVOLVED VEHICLES were invoiced has had a VIN list electronically transmitted to DIAL System Function 53. Owners will also be listed if known. To use this system, type "53" at the "ENTER FUNCTION" prompt, then type "0RD866" to determine if your dealer has any involved vehicles.
