Safety Recall E23-High Pressure Power Steering Hose
MODELS:
1999-2000(JA) Chrysler Cirrus, Dodge Stratus and Plymouth Breeze
NOTE:
This recall applies only to the above vehicles equipped with a 2.4L engine (sales code EDZ).
^ The high pressure power steering hose on about 25,000 of the above vehicles may crack and develop a power steering fluid leak. Power steering fluid leakage in the presence of an ignition source can result in an underhood fire.
^ To correct this condition, the high pressure power steering hose must be replaced.

Each dealer: To whom vehicles in this recall were involved will receive enough power steering hoses to service about 10% of these vehicles.

DEALER VIN LISTS Located On DealerCONNECT - Global Recall System(GRS)
Global Recall System (GRS) has been developed to provide dealers with an up-to-date list of involved vehicles by recall number and by dealer code. Owners known to DaimlerChrysler are also listed. Involved vehicles will be removed from GRS within several days of submitting repair claims.
To use the GRS in DealerCONNECT, you first need to click on the "Service" tab and then in the Reports and Information section click on "Global Recall System". Your dealer's VIN list for each recall displayed can be sorted by: VIN sequence, city, postal code, phone number or those vehicles that according to our records were unsold at time of the recall launch.
