Air Temperature Sensor ( Ambient / Intake ): Testing and Inspection

IAT Sensor, MAP Sensor:

1. Disconnect the intake air temperature sensor connector.

2. Measure the resistance between the sensor terminals.

Standard value:
9 - 11 K Ohms [at 25 °C (77 °F)]
0.6 - 0.8 K Ohms [at 100 °C (212 °F)]

If not within specifications, replace the air flow sensor.

3. Apply sealant to threaded portion. Use Mopar thread sealant P/N - 4318031, Loctite 24200, or equivalent.

4. Install intake air temperature sensor and tighten it to 7 Nm (5 ft.lbs.) torque.

5. Fasten harness connectors securely.
