Oil Pan: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. Disconnect negative cable from remote battery jumper terminal.

2. Remove oil drain plug and drain oil.
3. Remove drive belt splash shield.
4. Remove engine support module.
5. Remove exhaust cross-under pipe. Refer to Exhaust Manifold, for procedure.
6. Remove dipstick tube.
7. Remove starter motor.
8. Remove engine to transaxle struts/bending braces.
9. Remove transaxle dust shield.
10. Remove oil pan.

INSTALLATION

NOTE: Oil pan to cylinder block sealing is provided with Mopar(R) Silicone Rubber Adhesive Sealant or equivalent gasket material. See Form-In-Place Gaskets in Engine, Service and Repair, Standard Service Procedures.

1. Apply sealant as shown.
2. Install pan and tighten screws to 6 Nm (50 inch lbs.).
3. Install transaxle dust shield.
4. Install engine to transaxle struts/bending braces.
5. Install exhaust cross-under pipe. Refer to Exhaust Manifold for procedure.
6. Install starter motor.
7. Install engine support module.
8. Install drive belt splash shield.
9. Inspect and replace dipstick tube O-ring as necessary.
10. Install dipstick tube.
11. Install correct amount of new oil.
12. Connect negative cable to battery remote jumper terminal.
