Connecting Rod Bearing: Service and Repair

1. Follow the procedures outlined in the Standard Service Procedures found under Engine, Service and Repair for Measuring Main Bearing and Connecting Rod Bearing Clearances (Fig. 12). Refer to Connecting Rod Specification Chart.
2. Tighten nuts to 51 Nm (37 ft. lbs.).
3. Remove connecting rod cap and measure Plastigage.
CAUTION: Do not rotate crankshaft or the Plastigage may be smeared.
