Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement

The power steering pump must be removed from the vehicle for removal of the power steering pump pulley.

DISASSEMBLE
1. Remove power steering pump from engine.

CAUTION: Do not hammer on power steering pump pulley or shaft to remove power steering pump pulley. This will damage the pulley and the power steering pump.

Removing Pulley From Power Steering Pump Shaft:





2. Mount Puller, Special Tool C-4333 or C-4068 on power steering pump pulley. Mount power steering pump and puller in a vise to keep shaft of power steering pump from turning when removing pulley.
3. Remove the drive pulley from the shaft of the power steering pump.
4. Replace power steering pump pulley if bent, cracked, or loose.

ASSEMBLE

CAUTION: Do not hammer on power steering pump pulley or shaft to remove power steering pump pulley. This will damage the pulley and the power, steering pump.

1. Mount power steering pump in a vise using the power steering pump mounting bracket.

2. Place power steering pump pulley squarely on end of power steering pump shaft.

Special Tool 6936 Correctly Installed On Power Steering Pump Pulley:





3. Place Installation Spacer, Special Tool 6936, on top of the power steering pump pulley

Installing Pulley On Shaft Of Power Steering Pump:





4. Mount Installer, Special Tool C-4063 in internal threads of the power steering pump shaft and against Special Tool 6936 on power steering pump pulley.
5. Ensuring that special tool and pulley remain aligned with pump shaft, force pulley onto power steering pump shaft until Special Tool 6936 is against the end of the power steering pump shaft. When Special Tool 6936 is against the shaft of the power steering pump Special Tool C-4063 will no longer be able to be turned.
6. Remove Installer, Special Tool C-4063 from power steering pump.
7. Install power steering pump and mounting bracket back on engine.
