SYMPTOM
SCTM FAILURE
WHEN MONITORED
Continuously with ignition on.
SET CONDITION
BCM sends 12 volt reference signal to seat belt control timer module to monitor SCTM status. If signal is above 10 Volts code sets and seat belt light illuminates. Lamp extinguishes once problem is repaired but code stays in memory for 20 key starts.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
- Seat belt warning lamp stays on
- Seat belt lamp stays on
- Defective seat belt warning lamp/bulb
- Seat belt timer module sense circuit open
- Seat belt timer module sense circuit short
- Defective MIC circuit board
- Defective BCM seat belt circuit
