Harsh Engagement From Neutral to Drive

SYMPTOM:
HARSH ENGAGEMENT FROM NEUTRAL TO DRIVE

POSSIBLE CAUSES
- QUICK LEARN PERFORMED FIRST
- UD CLUTCH CLEARANCE TOO LOW
- DEFECTIVE ENGINE MOUNTS
- ENGINE IDLE SPEED TOO HIGH, CHECK IAC MOTOR
- HIGH DRIVELINE BACKLASH
- STICKY THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR

Repair Instructions:

Perform Quick Learn procedure.
Perform Transaxle 42LE Verification TEST VER-1A Verification Test VER-1A - Transmission Control System
UD CLUTCH CLEARANCE TOO LOW
Replace UD clutch Plates and discs, set clearance to specifications.
Perform Transaxle 42LE Verification TEST VER-1A Verification Test VER-1A - Transmission Control System
DEFECTIVE ENGINE MOUNTS
Repair or replace Engine Mounts.
Perform Transaxle 42LE Verification TEST VER-1A Verification Test VER-1A - Transmission Control System
ENGINE IDLE SPEED TOO HIGH, CHECK IAC MOTOR
Refer to Symptoms List under DRIVEABLITY DTCs CHECKING IAC MOTOR
Perform Transaxle 42LE Verification TEST VER-1A Verification Test VER-1A - Transmission Control System
HIGH DRIVELINE BACKLASH
Check and/or replace axle shafts, transfer gears/chain, differential pinion shaft/gears, hubs, and hub nuts. Perform Transaxle 42LE Verification TEST VER-1A Verification Test VER-1A - Transmission Control System
STICKY THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR
