SYMPTOM:HARSH DOWNSHIFTS
POSSIBLE CAUSES
- ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE STAYS LOW TOO LONG
- L-R CLUTCH OR ACCUMULATOR SEAL LEAKAGE
- STICKY THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR
- STUCK IAC MOTOR
- DEFECTIVE SOLENOID ASSEMBLY
- L-R SWITCH VALVE STICKY
- UD CLUTCH CLEARANCE TOO LOW
Repair Instructions:
ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE STAYS LOW TOO LONG
Check Coolant System / Thermostat stuck. Also, check for PCM DTC's.
Perform Transaxle 42LE Verification TEST VER-1A Verification Test VER-1A - Transmission Control System
L-R CLUTCH OR ACCUMULATOR SEAL LEAKAGE
Perform Clutch operation tests/ replace Accumulator Seal Rings.

STICKY THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR

DEFECTIVE SOLENOID ASSEMBLY
Replace Solenoid Pack Assembly.

Recondition Valve Body.

Replace UD clutch Plates and discs, set clearance to specifications.
