Fuel Pressure: Testing and Inspection
The fuel system operates at approximately 338 kPa (49 psi). Check fuel system pressure at the test port on the fuel rail.1. Release fuel pressure by following the Fuel Pressure release procedure.
2. Disconnect the fuel line at rear of the engine. Place a rage under fuel line to catch dripping fuel.
3. Remove the plastic clip from the fuel rail and insert back into the fuel quick connect connector.
4. Install special tool #6539.
5. Connect special tool C-4799-B to tool #6539.
6. Install fuel pump relay and start vehicle and observe fuel pump pressure.
7. Turn off vehicle and remove fuel pump relay and start vehicle to release fuel pressure.
Pressure Check With #6539 And C-4799-B:
8. Remove tools #C-4799-B and #6539 from vehicle.
9. Remove plastic from tool #6539 and reinstall to vehicle fuel line.
10. Install fuel line to vehicle.
