A/C Suction Hose/Line Replacement




REMOVAL
1. Remove refrigerant from the A/C system using a refrigerant recovery machine. Refer to: Heating and Air Conditioning, Service and Repair, Refrigerant System Evacuate, Refrigerant System Evacuate

2. Remove one nut holding suction line at expansion valve.

CAUTION: Cap all lines that are not being replaced and cap the expansion valve tubes.

3. Remove bolt holding line at compressor using a M10 Hex wrench.
4. Remove line by pulling rear end of line up out of vehicle with compressor end following through the tie-rod area.

NOTE: The 2 piece suction line is held in place with a 10 mm nut (mid-line fastener) torqued to 5 ft-lbs.

INSTALLATION
For installation, reverse the above procedures. Tighten TXV and compressor fasteners to 23 N.m (17 ft. lbs). Rail screw and mid-line nut to 7 N.m (5 ft-lbs).
