NOTE:
THIS BULLETIN APPLIES TO VEHICLES BUILT BEFORE NOV. 01, 1998 (MDH 1101XX). VEHICLES BUILT BEFORE MARCH 9, 1998 (MDH 0309XX) SHOULD BE UPDATED TO A NON-ROLLING CODE RKE SYSTEM AS DESCRIBED IN TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN 08-15-98.

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:

Lack of range using Remote Keyless Entry (RKE). RKE functions only within 5-10 feet of vehicle. Specified range should be approximately 40 feet as measured from the center of the vehicle.

DIAGNOSIS:

Verify that RKE functions, within 5-10 feet of vehicle. Operate the RKE transmitter while approximately 30 feet from the vehicle, if RKE does not operate perform the Repair Procedure.
