P0106A Barometric Pressure Out Of Range (OBD II)

NAME OF CODE
Barometric Pressure Out Of Range

WHEN MONITORED
With the ignition key on at less than 350 milliseconds and engine speed at less than 255 RPM.

SET CONDITION
The PCM senses the voltage from the MAP sensor to be less than 2.196 volts but above 0.019 volt for 300 milliseconds.

THEORY OF OPERATION
The MAP sensor voltage is used by the PCM to determine the barometric pressure within the manifold. The PCM uses that value as an altitude reference to determine the adjustments to the fuel control mixture.

POSSIBLE CAUSES
- MAP sensor failure
- PCM failure
- Connector terminals
- Connector wires

INACTIVE TROUBLE CODE CONDITION
You have just attempted to simulate the condition that initially set the trouble code message. The following additional checks may assist you in identifying a possible intermittent problem:
- Visually inspect related wire harness connectors. Look for broken, bent, pushed out, or corroded terminals.
- Visually inspect the related harnesses. Look for chafed, pierced, or partially broken wire.
- Refer to any hotlines or technical service bulletins that may apply.
