Stored Transponder ID/Response Mismatch and EEPROM Failure

NAME OF CODE
Transponder ID Mismatch

WHEN MONITORED
At ignition ON and during Key Programming Mode.

SET CONDITION
This failure condition exists when the transponder ID read by the SKIM does not match any of those transponder ID's stored in the SKIM's memory.

THEORY OF OPERATION
At ignition ON or during key programming, the SKIM performs a communication process with the transponder. The SKIM attempts powering up the transponder and activates the secret algorithm within the transponder. Upon receipt of a properly formatted secret algorithm response, the SKIM verifies that the response is correct. It the response is correct, it attempts to power up the transponder and tries to read the transponder ID. The SKIM verifies the transponder ID format and makes sure that the ID matches one that has been previously learned. If the ID does not match at this point, this code will set.

POSSIBLE CAUSES
- Damaged transponder
- Key not learned to SKIM
- Defective Sentry Key Immobilizer Module

NAME OF CODE
Transponder Response Mismatch

WHEN MONITORED
At ignition ON and during Key Programming Mode.

SET CONDITION
This condition exists when the transponder's secret algorithm result fails to match the SKIM's result.

THEORY OF OPERATION
At ignition ON or during key programming, the SKIM performs a communication process with the transponder. The SKIM attempts powering up the transponder and activates the secret algorithm within the transponder and activates the secret algorithm within the transponder. Upon receipt of a properly formatted secret algorithm response, the SKIM verifies that the response is correct. If the response is incorrect, then this code will be set.

POSSIBLE CAUSES
- Damaged transponder
- Key not learned to SKIM
- Detective Sentry Key Immobilizer Module

NAME OF CODE
EEPROM Failure

WHEN MONITORED
At ignition ON and during the SKIM programming process, which programs SKIM's PIN the VIN, Country Code or additional keys.

SET CONDITION
This condition is set when an error occurs during programming the SKIM's EEPROM. The other condition that causes this code to mature is an EEPROM I2C link failure

THEORY OF OPERATION
The SKIM'S EEPROM is used to store information critical to the SKIM's operation.

POSSIBLE CAUSES
- Defective Sentry Key Immobilizer Module
