Overhead Travel Information System
NAME OF CODEAmbient Temperature Sensor Failure
WHEN MONITORED
With ignition on
SET CONDITION
BCM senses an abnormally high or low voltage on its input
THEORY OF OPERATION
The ambient temperature sensor is a thermistor for which the BCM provides a 5V pull-up. Under normal operating conditions (-40 to 85° C) this voltage should be between 0.313 V and 4.88 V.
PROBABLE CAUSES
- Wiring open circuit
- Wiring short to ground
- Wiring short to battery
- Failed ambient temp sensor
- Failed BCM
