NAME OF CODE
Courtesy Lamp Output Short to Battery

WHEN MONITORED
Any time courtesy lamps should be on - door ajar, illuminated entry, or dimmer switch placed in dome lamp position.

SET CONDITION
BCM detects an overvoltage condition on its courtesy lamp output.

THEORY OF OPERATION
BCM monitors the voltage of its courtesy lamp output. It should be high (near battery) with the lamps off and low (<0.168V) with the lamps on. If it is low with the lamps off, the output is probably open circuited. It it is high when the BCM attempts to turn it on, it is probably shorted to battery.

POSSIBLE CAUSE
- Wiring short to battery
- BCM failure
