Dimming Level Switch Failure

NAME OF CODE
Dimming Level Switch Failure

WHEN MONITORED
Continuously

SET CONDITION
BCM detects an open or short circuit condition for 10 consecutive seconds on the dimming level switch input.

THEORY OF OPERATION
BCM reads the low current dimmer switch and sends the dimming level status over the PCI bus and activates the courtesy lamps as appropriate. If the BCM does not read a valid input from the switch for 10 consecutive seconds, it will set this fault and will send a dimming level of full night time brightness over the bus whenever the park lamps are on.

POSSIBLE CAUSES
- Wiring open circuit
- Wiring short to ground
- Wiring short to battery
- Failed dimmer switch
- Failed BCM
