NAME OF CODEHeadlamp Switch Input Failure
WHEN MONITORED
Continuously
SET CONDITION
BCM detects an open or short circuit condition for 10 consecutive seconds on its headlamp switch input.
THEORY OF OPERATION
BCM reads the low current headlamp switch and activates the park lamp, headlamp, and log lamp (if so equipped) relays accordingly. If the BCM does not read a valid input from the switch for 10 consecutive seconds it will set this fault and will turn the headlamps and park lamps on and off with ignition until a valid signal from the switch is seen.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
- Wiring open circuit
- Wiring short to ground
- Wiring short to battery
- Failed headlamp switch
- Failed BCM
