Drive Belt Tensioner: Testing and Inspection

Generator And Power Steering Oil Pump Drive Belt Tension Check And Adjustment








1. Use a belt tension gauge to check belt tension at the shown point, or check deflection by applying 98 N (22 Lbs.) to the shown point.
2. If it is out of the standard value, adjust it according to the following procedure.
(1) Loosen the tension pulley fixing nut (A).
(2) Use the tension pulley adjusting bolt (B) to adjust the belt tension.
(3) Tighten the tension pulley fixing nut (A).

Tightening torque: 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.)

1. Use a bells tension gauge to check belt tension at the shown point, or check deflection by applying 98 N (22, Lbs.) to the shown point.
2. If it is out of the standard value, adjust it according to the following procedure.
(1) Loosen the tension pulley fixing nut (A).
(2) Use the tension pulley adjusting bolt (B) to adjust the belt tension.
(3) Tighten the tension pulley fixing nut (A).
