REMOVAL SERVICE POINTS





Camshaft Sprocket Removal





Rocker Arm And Rocker Shaft Assembly Removal
Install the special tools on the rocker arms not to drop the lash adjusters.

Caution: Do not disassemble the rocker arm and rocker arm shaft assembly.

INSTALLATION SERVICE POINTS

Camshaft Installation
(1) Apply engine oil to the cams and journals of the camshafts.





(2) Set the dowel pins of the camshafts as shown in the illustration.

Caution: Do not confuse the camshafts. The camshaft for rear bank has a slit of width of 4 mm in its rear end.









Camshaft Oil Seal Installation
Coat engine oil on the entire inside diameter of the oil seal lip. Use the special tool to press-fit the oil seal.





Camshaft Sprocket Installation

Distributor Installation





(1) Set No. 1 cylinder in the top dead center on compression stroke.
(2) Align the mating mark on the distributor housing with that of the coupling. Install the distributor.
(3) Check the ignition timing.
