Drum Brake System: Description and Operation

Drum Brake Assembly:

This vehicles rear wheel drum brakes, are a two shoe leading/trailing internal expanding type, with an automatic self adjuster mechanism. The automatic self' adjuster mechanism used on this vehicle is a screw type adjuster. This type of self adjuster mechanism is actuated each time the vehicles service brakes are applied. The automatic adjuster mechanism is located directly below the rear wheel cylinder.
