Pump Motor Circuit Not Working Properly

NAME OF CODE
- Pump Motor Circuit Not Working Properly

WHEN MONITORED
Ignition on.

SET CONDITION
This Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) is stored when the Control Antilock Brake (CAB) detects that the pump motor cannot run when commanded to do so OR is running erroneously. The CAB commands the pump to run at 25 km/h (15 mph) to check its operation, provided the brake switch is not applied. If the driver has their foot on the brake the test will be delayed until 40 km/h (24 mph) regardless of the brake lamp switch condition. If the driver has their foot on the brake pedal at this time they will feel a pulsation in the pedal, this is normal. This pump motor test happens each time the vehicle is started and driven OR at the end of an ABS event. The CAB monitors the pump motor at all times for proper operation. If the pump is off at the end of an ABS off stop when the pump is commanded "on", or if the pump is "on" when the pump is commanded "off", the trouble code is set.

POSSIBLE CAUSES:
- Corroded pump motor terminals
- Loose connections in the pump motor connector
- Open pump motor fuse
- Unplugged pump motor connector
- Failed pump motor
- Failed CAB
- Open pump motor ground circuit
- Short to voltage in the pump motor supply circuit
