Alternator Belt Adjustment

To adjust the air conditioning and generator drive belt, loosen the idler pulley bolt and adjust belt tension by turning adjusting screw. Tighten pulley bolt to 54 Nm (40 ft. lbs.) after adjustment. For conventional belts and Poly-V belts, use belt tensioning Special Tool Kit C-4162 to obtain proper belt tension. Adjust the belt tension for a New or Used belt as prescribed in specifications.
