NOTE:
THIS BULLETIN APPLIES TO VEHICLES BUILT AFTER JANUARY 7, 1997 (MDH O1-07-XX).
DISCUSSION:
Some Sebring Convertible power tops will now have a power top inhibit function. The power top inhibit function will not allow the top to be raised or lowered if the vehicle is moving over 10 mph. This new system adds a power top inhibit relay which is located in the power distribution center.
To determine if a vehicle is equipped with the top inhibit feature verify the following:
^ The top switch LED (Notification light) is off above 10 MPH.
^ The power windows will not drop when depressing the top switch above 10 MPH.
^ The power top inhibit relay will be located in the power distribution center.
The 1997 Sebring Convertible Service Manual Section 8W has been revised to add the complete service information on the power top inhibit feature. The 2nd edition of the 1997 Sebring Convertible Owner Manual has been revised to advise the customer of this new feature and its operation.
Some parts are not interchangeable and the chart should be followed when ordering parts.
