ABS WARNING LAMP DIODE CIRCUIT
When Its Monitored
The test is conducted at power-up. The Antilock Brake System (ABS) warning lamp diode allows the warning lamp bulb to be grounded by the system relay while the relay is turned off. The trouble code is stored if the warning lamp driver circuit does not respond properly when the system relay is turned off and on at power up.
Possible Causes:
^ ABS warning lamp driver circuit open between the Controller Antilock Brake (CAB) and relay box.
^ Failed diode (part of relay box)
Inactive Trouble Code Condition
You have just attempted to simulate the condition that initially set the trouble code message. The following additional checks may assist you in identifying a possible intermittent problem:
^ Visually inspect related wire harness connectors. Look for broken, bent, pushed out, or corroded terminals.
^ Visually inspect the related harnesses. Look for chafed, pierced, or partially broken wire.
^ Refer to any hotlines or technical service bulletins that may apply.
