Front Suspension Noise Diagnosis

MODELS:

1995 - 1996 (FJ) Avenger/Sebring/Talon

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:

Popping, knocking, clunking, etc. type noise in the front suspension while driving over various road surfaces.

DIAGNOSIS:

Make a note of the conditions present when the customer recognizes the noise (vehicle speed, while turning, over large bumps, etc.). Drive the vehicle to duplicate the sound so when repairs are made they can be verified for effectiveness. If the exact location of the noise cannot be determined, check the installation of all suspension related parts for wear, damage, and tightening torque. If the basic inspection does not uncover any obvious conditions, proceed with the Repair Procedure.
