Power Steering Pressure Switch Inspection

Pressure Switch Test Special Tool Installation:

1. Disconnect pressure hose from oil pump, then connect power steering pressure switch test special tools.
2. Bleed air, then turn steering wheel several times while vehicle is not moving so fluid temperature rises.
3. Idle engine.
4. Disconnect pressure switch connector, then place ohmmeter in position.
5. Gradually close shutoff valve at pressure gauge and increase hydraulic pressure, then ensure hydraulic pressure activates the switch at standard value of 213-284 psi.
6. Gradually open shutoff valve and reduce hydraulic pressure, then ensure hydraulic pressure deactivates the switch at standard value of 114 psi or less.
7. Remove special tools, then tighten pressure hose to specifications.
8. Bleed system.
