Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Testing and Inspection

Coolant Temperature Sensor:






1. Disconnect the engine coolant temperature sensor connector.
2. Measure the resistance between the sensor terminals.
Standard value:
- 9k - 11k ohms [at 25°C (77°F)]
- 0.6k - 0.8k ohms [at 100°C (212°F)]

3. Apply sealant to threaded portion.
- Specified sealant: MOPAR Part No.4318031 (Lock Nut Seal Adhesive) or equivalent.
4. Install coolant temperature sensor and tighten it to specified torque.
- Sensor tightening torque: 7 Nm (5 ft lb)
5. Fasten harness connectors securely.
