NOTE:
THIS BULLETIN APPLIES TO AVENGER/SEBRING MODELS BUILT AFTER DECEMBER 1, 1995 (MDH 12-01-XX).
DISCUSSION:
The door defroster garnish may crack along the edge or end as shown in Figure 1. Parts are now released to allow replacement of the garnish alone instead of replacing the complete door trim panel. Additionally, a procedure has been developed to allow garnish replacement.
DIAGNOSIS:
Visually inspect the garnish for cracking. If cracked, Perform the Repair Procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
This repair involves removing the door trim panel to gain access for garnish replacement.
1. Remove the door trim panel.
2. Remove the 2 Phillips head screws that attach the garnish to the trim panel.
3. Carefully lift the door panel substrate at the location of the three plastic tabs to dislodge them from the panel Figure 2.
NOTE:
USE CARE WHEN PRYING THE SUBSTRATE FROM THE GARNISH. EXCESS FORCE WILL CAUSE THE TRIM PANEL TO BE DAMAGED.
Install the new garnish into the trim panel. Install the two screws, do not over tighten.
NOTE:
EXCESS TIGHTENING OF THE SCREWS CAN DAMAGE THE GARNISH.
5. Reinstall the door trim panel.
