Booster Pushrod Measurement
1. Check clearance "A" (Figure 3) between the brake booster push rod and primary piston as follows:
A. Remove the master cylinder from the booster.
B. Remove any vacuum that may be left in the booster.
C. Calculate clearance "A" by taking B, C, and D measurements (A = B - C - D) as shown in figure 3.
2. The specification for clearance is 0.65 to 0.85 mm (0.0256 to 0.0335 in).
NOTE:
WHEN VACUUM IS APPLIED TO THE BOOSTER, THE CLEARANCE WILL BE REDUCED TO 0.1 TO 0.3 MM (0.004 TO 0.012 IN).
3. If the clearance is not within specification, turn the push rod screw to adjust the length to specification (Figure 4).
