AR 04798237 Mopar Interior Treatment (Leather Cleaner)
AR 08080 3M General Trim Adhesive or equivalent

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

This bulletin involves de-trimming the seat back assemblies, inserting a foam pad, re-trimming the seat back, and cleaning the leather.

1. Remove the headrest assembly from the headrest guide, do not remove guides.
2. Remove lumbar support knob (left hand seat only).
3. Release recliner lever and push seat back to the full forward position.
4. Remove the 5 hog rings at the bottom of the front seat back cover using wire cutters. The hog rings are accessible from the back of the seat.
5. Remove the trim wire from the bottom wire pocket located at the back bottom of the front seat back cover.
6. Unzip the 2 zippers located at the back of the front seat back cover.
7. Unhook the 4 plastic J-clips that connect the cover to the frame.
8. From the front side, carefully pull the bottom leather flap through to the front side.

9. Roll the cover over the bolsters toward the center of the cover to expose the 2 vertical wire pockets on each side (Figure 1).
10. Remove the 2 hog rings on each side.
11. Pull the cover upward and remove the 2 hog rings from the middle horizontal wire pocket (Figure 1).
12. Pull the cover upward and remove the 2 hog rings from the top horizontal wire pocket (Figure 1).

13. Pull the cover upward to expose the shaded area of pad as shown in Figure 2.

CAUTION:
Do not remove the cover completely. This will cause cover damage by the headrest guides and will also require replacement of the guides.

14. Spray one side of the foam pad P/N 04882027 with 3M P/N 08080 General Trim Adhesive or equivalent. Carefully position the foam pad to the seat back foam as shown in the shaded portion of Figure 2.
15. Re-assemble the seat back assemblies by reversing the above steps of disassembly. Use new hog rings as required to secure the cover to the frame.
16. After reassembly, clean the seat back with P/N 04798237 Mopar Interior Treatment. Use a soft cloth and briskly rub the area where the number codes read through the cover.

CAUTION:
Do not use petroleum or citrus based cleaners on leather.

17. Clean the entire cover and dry the cover with a soft cloth.

NOTE:
Any traces of the read through will disappear in a short time with regular use of the vehicle.
