Repair Procedure

This bulletin involves the replacement of the scratched door glass and both outer door belt weatherstrip.

1. Remove the door trim panel and watershield.

2. Remove the inner door belt weatherstrip.

3. Loosen the inner belt stabilizer.

4. Remove the door speaker if equipped.

5. Lower the door glass to access the glass attachment bolts.

6. Remove the bolts holding regulator lift channel to the door glass.

7. Remove the bolts holding the rear guide plate to the door glass.

8. Separate the rear guide plate from the door glass.

9. Lift the door glass upward and out of opening at top of door.

10. Remove the side view mirror.

11. Remove the upper cover on rear edge of door.





12. Remove the screws holding the outer door belt weatherstrip to the outer door panel. Figure 1

13. Separate the outer door belt weatherstrip from the vehicle and discard.

14. Position the new outer door belt weatherstrip onto the vehicle.

15. Install the screws to hold the outer door belt weatherstrip to the outer door panel.

16. Install the side view mirror.

17. Install the upper cover on rear edge of door.

18. Carefully lower the door glass (new if required) through the opening in the top of the door. Verify that the front edge of the glass is in the mirror flag glass channel.

19. Install the nuts holding the regulator lift channel to the door glass.

20. Position the door glass to the original position on the rear guide plate and install bolts.

21. Tighten all door glass fasteners. Verify correct door glass position and adjust as needed.

22. Install door speaker if so equipped.

23. Install the window inner belt stabilizer in the original position and tighten.

24. Install the inner door belt weatherstrip.

25. Install the door trim panel and watershield.

26. Repeat procedure for other door.
