Erratic Windshield Wiper Delay Intervals

MODELS:
1995 - 1996 (JA) Breeze/Cirrus/Stratus
1996 (JX) Sebring Convertible

NOTE:
THIS BULLETIN APPLIES TO 1996 MODEL YEAR VEHICLES BUILT BEFORE FEB. 23, 1996 (MDH 02-23-XX) AND 1995 MODEL YEAR VEHICLES WHICH HAVE A 1996 BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM). THE 1996 BCM's ENTERED PRODUCTION AND MADE AVAILABLE AS SERVICE REPLACEMENTS ON MAY 1, 1995. THE YEAR CAN BE VERIFIED WITH THE DRBIII (SCAN TOOL).

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:

Erratic windshield wiper delay intervals during intermittent wiper operation.

DIAGNOSIS:

Using the Scan Tool (DRBIII) and the appropriate Diagnostic Procedure Manual, verify that all body systems are functioning correctly. If Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC's) are present, record them on the repair order for future reference and repair as necessary.

Verify the BCM model year is 1996 using the DRBIII. Perform the Repair Procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

This bulletin involves changing the BCM calibration values.

NOTE:
DRB III IS REQUIRED TO PERFORM THE FOLLOWING REPAIR AND MUST BE OPERATING WITH RELEASE 19.1 OR HIGHER.

1. With the DRB III connected to the vehicle use the arrow keys and page through the following menu's:

> Stand Alone DRBIII

> 1994 - 1996 Diagnostics

> Body

> Body Computer

> Miscellaneous

> Reset Wiper Sw. Min. - Follow instructions presented on screen

2. Disconnect DRBIII.
