Belt Tightening/Tension

1. Install a suitable belt tension gauge in the middle of belt span.
2. Correct belt tension is 66-86 lbs.
3. Adjust belt tension as follows:

a. Loosen locking nut and pivot bolt.
b. Adjust tension by tightening adjusting bolt.
c. Adjust new belt to 150 lbs. and used belt to 80 lbs. [01]
d. Torque locking nut and pivot bolt to 40 ft. lbs.



[01] -- A belt which has been installed and run for 15 minutes is considered "used".
