Exhaust Manifold: Service and Repair

1. Raise and support vehicle.
2. Disconnect exhaust pipe from rear exhaust manifold at flex joint. It may be necessary to remove entire exhaust system.
3. Remove crossover pipe to manifold attaching bolts, then remove assembly.
4. Disconnect oxygen sensor lead wire at rear exhaust manifold.
5. Remove power steering pump bracket.
6. Remove rear manifold to cylinder head attaching nuts, then the manifold.
7. Lower vehicle and disconnect front heated oxygen sensor.
8. Remove front heat shield to manifold attaching screws.
9. Remove front manifold attaching nuts and manifold.
10. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Install new manifold gaskets.
b. Tighten all attaching bolts and nuts to specifications.
