SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
New in stock vehicles may exhibit hard starts, miss-fire, or rough idle due to spark plug fouling. This can be caused by infrequent engine operation during the transportation process.
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
This bulletin involves cleaning the spark plugs prior to delivery.
1. Bring the engine to operating temperature.
2. Drive the vehicle at a speed of 25 mph in first gear or 40 miles per hour in second gear for 5 minutes. This will bring the plug temperature up to a point that will burn the deposits off.
CAUTION:
Do not exceed the speed/gear selections listed.
3. If the driving method fails to correct the problem, the plugs should be removed and cleaned.
POLICY: Reimbursable within the provisions of the warranty.
