Seat Trim Material Pulls Away From Seat Belt Bezel
THIS BULLETIN SUPERSEDES TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN 23-70-96 DATED NOVEMBER 29, 1996, WHICH SHOULD BE NOTED IN THE 1996 TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN MANUAL (PUBLICATION NO. 81-699-97010). THE 1997 MODEL YEAR HAS BEEN ADDED AND PARTS INFORMATION HAS BEEN REVISED TO ADD LEATHER SEATS. ALL REVISIONS ARE MARKED WITH **ASTERISKS

NOTE:
THIS BULLETIN APPLIES TO VEHICLES BUILT PRIOR TO OCTOBER 4, 1996 (MDH 10-04-XX).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The seat trim material is pulling away from the front seat belt bezel.
DIAGNOSIS:
Inspect both front seats to determine if the material is pulling out of seat belt bezel. If material is pulling out of bezel, perform the Repair Procedure. Figure 1
PARTS REQUIRED:
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
This bulletin involves the replacement of the front seat back cover with a new seat back cover. The new seat back cover has increased seat material retainers at the bezel opening.
1. Remove and replace the front seat back cover following the procedures found in the 1997 Sebring Convertible Service Manual (Publication No. 81-270-7122) pages 23-13 to 23-14.
CAUTION:
BEFORE REMOVING THE SEAT BELT ANCHOR BOLT, CLAMP THE SEAT BELT SO IT WILL NOT FULLY RETRACT INTO THE ANCHOR UNIT.
