Repair Procedure

This bulletin involves the replacement of the quarter panel door weatherstrip assembly and the quarter window glass. Both components are matched and must be replaced together for the repair to be effective.

1. Raise the glass to the full up position.

2. Remove the quarter trim panel.

3. Partially lower the convertible top.





4. Remove the fasteners attaching the glass to the lift channel of the quarter window module. Figure 1

5. Loosen the latch plate hook nut and separate the glass from the car.

6. Remove door sill trim panel.

7. Remove push-in fasteners holding weatherstrip to B-pillar.

8. Remove weatherstrip from door opening flange.





9. Separate the quarter panel weatherstrip from vehicle. Figure 2

10. Position the new quarter panel door weatherstrip onto vehicle.

11. Install weatherstrip to door opening flange.

12. Install push-in fasteners holding weatherstrip to B-pillar.

13. Install door sill trim panel.

14. Position the glass in vehicle.

15. Loosely install the fasteners holding the glass to lift channel of quarter window module.

16. Tighten latch plate hook nut.

17. Adjust quarter glass as required by referring to the quarter glass adjustment procedure found in the 1997 Sebring Convertible Service Manual (Publication No. 81-270-7122) on page 23-56 to 23-57.

18. Install the quarter trim panel.

19. Raise and secure convertible top.
