DEALER SERVICE INSTRUCTIONS
Safety Recall # 750 -- Front Lower Control Arm Ball Joints

^ This service requirement applies only to:

^ 1995 Through 1997 Model Year Chrysler Cirrus, Dodge Stratus and Plymouth Breeze (JA) Vehicles; and

^ 1996 and 1997 Model Year Chrysler Sebring Convertible (JX) Vehicles

^ The front lower control arm on the above listed vehicles may separate from the steering knuckle at the ball joint. To correct this condition, the front lower control arm ball joint boots and end cover crimps must be inspected and the control arm(s) replaced if necessary.

^ This recall will be launched in phases as additional parts become available. Owners of 1995 model year vehicles will be notified initially.

Alternate Transportation:

^ Dealers who are servicing a vehicle that requires lower control arm replacement should attempt to minimize customer inconvenience. Contact your zone office for further instructions on alternate transportation authorization if necessary.

Parts Packages:

^ Miller Special Tool # 8219 was shipped to Dodge and Chrysler-Plymouth dealers in early December, 1997, and is required to perform the lower control arm ball joint inspection.

^ Very few vehicles are expected to require lower control arm replacement. Therefore, one RIGHT and one LEFT Lower Control Arm will be supplied initially to each dealer (involved and uninvolved). Additional parts may be ordered as needed to support scheduled repairs.
