With A/T


1. Relieve fuel system pressure as outlined under "Precautions".
2. Disconnect and remove battery and tray, then disconnect Powertrain Control Module (PCM) electrical connector and position aside.
3. Drain coolant into a suitable container.
4. Remove upper radiator hose, fan module and radiator as outlined under "Radiator, Replace".
5. Remove lower radiator hose.
6. Disconnect and plug transaxle cooler line.
7. Disconnect transaxle and throttle body linkage.
8. Disconnect engine wiring harness electrical connectors.
9. Disconnect heater hoses.
10. Discharge and recover A/C refrigerant as outlined in "Air Conditioning" section.
11. Raise and support vehicle, then remove the right inner splash shield.
12. Remove accessory drive belts.
13. Remove axle shafts.
14. Disconnect exhaust pipe from manifold.
15. Remove front and rear engine mount bracket from the body.
16. Lower vehicle, then remove the air cleaner assembly.
17. Remove power steering pump and reservoir.
18. Remove A/C compressor.
19. Remove ground straps to body.
20. Raise and support vehicle to install engine dolly and cradle tool Nos. 6135 and 6710, or equivalents.
21. Loosen engine cradle mounts to position engine locating holes in bedplate, then lower the vehicle until engine rests on cradle mounts and tighten mounts to cradle frame to prevent mount movement.
22. Lower vehicle so weight of engine and transaxle is only on cradle.
23. Remove engine and transaxle mount attaching bolts.
24. Slowly raise and support vehicle, move engine and transaxle assembly on cradle to allow for removal around body flanges as required.
25. Reverse procedure to install.
