IMPORTANT

Safety Recall # 717 -- Power Mirror Switch

^ This service requirement applies only to 1996 model year Chrysler Sebring Convertible (JX) vehicles equipped with power mirrors built through June 20, 1996 (MDH 062007).

^ The power mirror switch electrical contacts on the above listed vehicles, may corrode due to water intrusion. This could result in an electrical short and possibly cause a fire. To correct this condition, the power mirror switch must be replaced.

Parts Packages:

^ Each involved dealer, to whom vehicles in the recall were invoiced, will receive enough of each Switch Package to service about 25% of those vehicles.

Dealers should determine which parts package is required for each vehicle at the time appointments are scheduled to assure that the correct parts package is available when the customer arrives. The appropriate power mirror switch for the vehicle to be serviced may be determined by:

^ Using the part code in the third column of the VIN list along with the table in the Parts section (involved dealers),

^ Using VIN lists electronically transmitted to DIAL System Function 53. Refer to the DIAL System section for details (involved dealers) or

^ Entering the VIN to DIAL System Function 69 or VIP (sales code information) along with the table in the Parts section (all dealers).
