CLEANING PROCEDURE:
CAUTION:
AVOID HIGH PRESSURE CAR WASH AS IT CAN DAMAGE THE TOP MATERIAL OR FORCE WATER PAST THE WEATHERSTRIPS. HAND WASHING IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
1. Move vehicle into a partially shaded area, do not wash in direct sun.
2. Careful vacuuming of the top before washing is helpful in removing excess dust and other foreign particles.
3. Wet entire car before washing top.
4. Using a mild soap solution (such as dish washing liquid soap) and scrub brush to wash the complete top. Scrub in all directions covering an area of about two square feet at a time. Avoid heavy scrubbing.
5. Rinse the area with warm water.
6. If a stain is showing, use a mild soap solution and a soft natural bristle scrub brush, scrub in all directions over the stain. Avoid heavy scrubbing.
7. Rinse the area with warm water.
8. If the stain is still apparent, repeat steps 6 and 7.
9. When the stain is no longer showing the complete top should be washed to prevent streaking. Wet the complete top with warm water.
10. Using a mild soap solution (such as dish washing liquid soap) and the scrub brush to wash the complete top, scrub in all directions covering an area of about two square feet at a time. Avoid heavy scrubbing.
11. Rinse the entire vehicle with warm water to remove all soap and dirt from the fabric.
12. Allow the top to dry completely before lowering it into the storage area.
NOTE:
VACUUMING THE TOP WITH A WET/DRY SHOP VACUUM WILL DECREASE THE TOP1S DRYING TIME, ENSURE REMOVAL OF ALL DIRT, AND DELETE STREAKS IN THE MATERIAL. MULTIPLE CLEANING MAY BE NECESSARY TO REMOVE STUBBORN STAINS. ALWAYS WAIT UNTIL THE TOP IS THOROUGHLY DRY BEFORE LOWERING IT INTO THE STORAGE AREA.
ADDITIONAL CLEANING PROCEDURE FOR CLOTH TOPS:
1. Apply Mopar Convertible Cloth Top Cleaner (P/N 4883061) to the complete stain extending 2 inches out from the stain.
2. With a soft bristle brush, scrub in all directions over the stain. Avoid heavy scrubbing.
3. Rinse the area with warm water.
4. If the stain is still apparent, repeat the procedure.
5. When the stain is no longer showing, rinse the complete top with warm water.
6. Let the top dry before lowering.
CLOTH TOP PROTECTION:
For appearance purposes, a fabric protector may be applied periodically. A fabric protector such as "Scotch Guard" is suggested.
CAUTION:
AVOID GETTING THE FABRIC PROTECTOR ON THE SURROUNDING WEATHERSTRIPS, MOLDINGS, PAINT, OR GLASS AS DAMAGE TO THESE ITEMS MAY OCCUR.
