Dashboard / Instrument Panel: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then open both front doors and remove instrument panel end covers.

2. Remove transmission range indicator bezel from floor console, then remove four floor center console mounting screws and floor center console.
3. Disconnect air bag control module.
4. Remove instrument cluster hood as follows:
a. Remove two screws adjacent to radio, then remove screw below HVAC control in center bezel.
b. Remove screw at left end of panel, then pull on hood to disconnect eight clips and remove hood.

5. Remove two cubby bin screws and cubby bin, then remove five knee bolster mounting screws and knee bolster.
6. Open glove compartment door and press side walls inward to lower access panel, then remove eight mounting screws and one push pin from forward floor console and remove console.
7. Pull drivers side underpanel silencer off of distribution duct.
8. Remove instrument panel top cover as follows:
a. Remove instrument panel top cover mounting screw from passenger side, then lift right rear edge to disconnect clips along rear edge.
b. Lift rear edge and slid top cover rearward to remove.

9. Remove HVAC control mounting screws, then remove radio.
10. Remove three HVAC mounting screws from duct, then remove three HVAC mounting bolts from cross-car beam.
11. Close glove compartment door, then remove five screws attaching panel retainer to plenum.
12. Remove steering column mounting bolts, then disconnect engine and body wiring harness from junction block.
13. Remove three HVAC screws at bottom of dash panel, then remove instrument panel fasteners.
14. Lift and pull reward to remove instrument panel.
15. Reverse procedure to install.
