About Diagnostic Charts

INTRODUCTION
The procedures contained include all of the specifications, instructions, and graphics needed to diagnose 41TE and 42 LE electronic automatic transaxle problems. These diagnostics are based on the failure condition or symptom being present at the time of diagnosis.

When repairs are required, refer to the appropriate repair procedure.

Diagnostic procedures change every year. New diagnostic systems may be added: carryover systems may be enhanced. It is recommended that you review the entire section to become familiar with all new and changed diagnostic procedures.

System Coverage
These diagnostic procedures cover all 1996 and 1997 Chrysler products equipped with a 41TE or 42LE Electronic Transaxle.
