1, 2 and 3 Digit Codes: 13

NAME OF CODE
13 - Internal Controller (watchdog circuit test)

NOTE: This is not a trouble code. It exists to provide reference information only.

WHEN MONITORED
After a reset (ignition key turned to the RUN position or after cranking engine) and periodically thereafter.

SET CONDITION
The watchdog test must not be in progress. The delay/monitor line, or the relay coil power, or the switched battery must be detected to below. This code sets in less than 1 second when the above conditions are met and delay/monitor (DLYMON) is low for more than 0.651 seconds, or DLYMON is low and either RLYPWR or 5W BATT is low for more than 0.252 seconds.

THEORY OF OPERATION
The internal watchdog (WD) circuit continuously monitors the microprocessor. It provides a shutdown function when it detects a problem in the microprocessor. This code causes the transmission to go into limp-in mode.

POSSIBLE CAUSES
- Internal controller failure
