Service Torque for Inner Tie rod End to Steering Gear Attachment

MODELS:
1993 - 2000 (LH) Concorde/Intrepid/LAS/New Yorker/Vision/3OOM

DISCUSSION:
When servicing the inner tie rod end to steering gear attaching bolts, they must be tightened to 100 Nm (74 ft. lbs.) with an appropriate torque wrench and the retaining tabs bent against the heads of the bolts to ensure a secure and reliable joint.





Prior to re-assembly of the joint any damaged or worn components must be replaced (Figure 1).

NOTE
ALL EXISTING LH SERVICE MANUALS SHOULD BE UPDATED TO REFLECT THE REVISED SERVICE TORQUE SPECIFICATION.
