Ball Joint: Service and Repair

The lower ball joint is serviced with the lower control arm.

INSPECTION

1. Raise and support front of vehicle.
2. Grasp tire at top and bottom then apply an in and out force.
3. While applying force to tire, look for movement between lower ball joint and lower control arm.
4. If any movement is evident, the lower ball joint is worn and the lower control arm requires replacement.
