Scheduled Maintenance Inspection
NOTE: Service and general information labels about the air bag system can be found on the driver's sun visor, the glove box door, and in the engine compartment.WARNING: Failure to have the air bag system properly, may lead to possible injury in the event of an accident.
The air bag system must be inspected every three years or 30,000 miles. The following items should be inspected:
1. Inspect air bag module housing for signs of physical damage or abuse.
2. Inspect front impact sensors, if equipped, and ensure they are properly installed.
3. Inspect air bag warning lamp for proper operation, as follows:
a. Turn ignition switch to On position. The air bag warning lamp should light. If lamp fails to light, test system using DRB II diagnostic tool.
b. If air bag warning lamp lights but fails to go out after 10 seconds, test system using DRB II diagnostic tool.
c. If lamp fails to operate as specified, test system using DRB II diagnostic tool.
