Circuit Operation
INTRODUCTIONThe Body Control Module (BCM) is used to supply the vehicles occupants with visual and audible information, control carious vehicle functions, and provide a centralized power distribution for the passenger compartment. To both provide and receive vehicle information the BCM is interfaced with the CCD Bus.
There are two BCM's available on this vehicle, a base and a premium. Both of these are covered in this section. The premium has all the functions of the base model with additional features.
Power for the BCM is provided from three sources. One is the M1 circuit. This is the Ignition-Off Draw (IOD) circuit and is protected by a 10 Amp fuse located in cavity 13 of the junction block. This circuit is HOT at all times
Power for this fuse is supplied by circuit A7. This circuit originates in the Power Distribution Center (PDC) and is protected by a 20 Amp fuse located in cavity G.
Power is also supplied on circuit G5. This circuit is protected by a 5 Amp fuse located in cavity 14 of the junction block. Power for the fuse is supplied by circuit A21 from the ignition switch. This circuit is HOT in the RUN position only
Power for the A21 circuit is supplied by circuit A1 from the PDC. The A1 circuit is protected by a 20 Amp fuse located in cavity A.
Circuit F11, which is HOT when the ignition switch is in the OFF, RUN, and START positions, supplies power to the BCM. This circuit is protected by a 5 Amp fuse located in cavity 17 of the junction block.
Power for the fuse is supplied on circuit A81 from the ignition switch. Circuit A81 receives power from circuit A1, which originates in the PDC, and is protected by a 20 Amp fuse located in cavity A.
Ground for the BCM is supplied by two circuits. They are the Z1 and Z2 circuits. Both of these grounds terminate at the Airbag Control Module (ACM) bracket.
CCD Bus interface is accomplished on circuits D1 and D2. The D1 circuit is used for CCD (+) and the D2 for CCD (-).
