Camshaft Oil Seal: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. Remove front timing belt cover and timing belt.
2. Hold camshaft sprocket with Special Tool C-4687 and adapter C-4687-1, or equivalents while removing center bolt.
3. Remove camshaft seal using Special Tool C-4679-A, or equivalent.
CAUTION: Do not nick shaft seal surface or seal bore
INSTALLATION
1. Shaft seal surface must be free of varnish, dirt or nicks. Polish with 400 grit paper if necessary.
2. Install camshaft seal into cylinder head using Special Tool MD-998306, or equivalent until flush with head.
3. Install camshaft sprocket and tighten center bolt to 101 Nm (75 ft. lbs.).
